If your PC runs XP, Vista, 7, or 8, you’re set – you don’t have to do anything special to install Instant File Find Pro. You just need to download an installer, run it, and then follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard. It’s a standard installation procedure that will not take much of your time.

When you first launch Instant File Find Pro you will be informed that you can start searching after the search cache is built. You will also be informed that building the cache takes only 1 to 5 minutes, that the search cache is built automatically when you run this program for the first time, and that the search cache will be updated automatically.

There are three tabs in the upper left hand corner of the application’s interface:
Quick Buttons – quickly filter the search results so you only see music, videos, documents, or pictures.
Size and date – filter search results by size and date.
Advanced – choose if you want to search for files and folders, files only, or folders only.

Underneath these tabs there’s a box for entering the search queries, and a panel that lists the search results.

Using Instant File Find Pro is an incredibly simple process. Just type in the name of the file you want to find and the application will immediately start looking for it. You’ll see that results are displayed on the interface as you type in the query. To get better results you can restrict your search to a certain drive or folder and you can use the filters mentioned above to trim down the results and find what you need.
